Daydreaming

I engage in processed photography that connects archival family images, self-portraiture, childhood home imagery, and memories from the traditional family table. This pursuit allows me to breathe new life into those moments that remain as static and frozen memories, devoid of vitality and unattainable. I incorporate my self-portraiture into photographs of my parents in our childhood neighborhood. I envelop myself in a petticoat and the hard-boiled eggs that my late father used to place on the table every Shabat morning during family meals. I unite the traditional utensils passed down through generations. I cover my face with the textured cover of the oldest colorful family album, thereby embedding my own marks. From the pages of the album, I create new images.

I wrap and embrace myself in a scarf and the bowl that passes between mother and daughter.
