Kadish

The body of work "Kadish" is a self-portrait, during the last year and through staged photography in natural light, I examined the connection between death and tradition in my family. In an attempt to explore pieces of memory and preserve the rituals and traditions that rely on different cultures.  using foods, details of clothing and colors as raw material whose presence in my family's life is an expression of commemoration and preservation. The photographs deal not only with death and parting from life but also with mourning for the cultural and family tradition that fades over the years. They concern the search for a cohesive self-identity found in different geographical and cultural origins, and create a holistic image that connects everyone.
